It is a system in which people who are engaged in various volunteer activities in the city are liable for unexpected accidents during the activity or pay insurance money when they are injured.
There is no need to apply in advance because Yokohama City bears the entire premium.

In the unlikely event of an accident, please let the ward office General Affairs Division General Affairs Section as soon as possible.
We have you report contents of specific volunteer activity or the situation of accident and examine whether it is targeted for insurance.

There are also "volunteer activity insurance" that can be enrolled by individual volunteers, volunteer groups, non-profit organizations, or volunteers of their affiliation (must be registered or commissioned by the Japan National Council of Social Welfare).
