The rules of the town

What are "the rules of the town"?

"Rules of towns" include city planning, building agreements, local town development plans and rules, voluntary agreements, etc.
“Rules for Town Together” (To the City of Yokohama, Urban Development Bureau page)

1.District planning

  • We establish detailed rule that matched area as city planning and establish the regulations. This rule is followed by Yokohama City, and construction that does not conform to the rules is not possible.

2.Building agreement

  • The local people agree and the mayor approves. These rules are followed by the Building Agreement Steering Committee established in the region. The expiration date is set arbitrarily (generally 10 years).

3.Local town development plan rules

  • It is "plan" and "rules" authorized based on the Yokohama-shi area town development promotion regulations.
  • With "local town development plan", local town development organization gathered approach for problem solution including aim, policy of local town development and manufacturing, voluntary activity, and the mayor authorized.
  • With "local town development rule", about building or land use, the mayor authorized rule that local town development organization decided voluntarily while getting understanding and support such as local residents.
