Various chemical substances added in so-called health foods

Last update date April 1, 2023

Laxative agent. The main ingredient is Sennoside A and B. A crude drug containing the same ingredients is dioxa (large yolk). Drinking a healthy tea containing senna causes health problems such as "diarrhea does not stop" and "abdominal pain". Avoid taking it during pregnancy.

It was once used as a laxative agent, but cannot be used because of its carcinogenicity is obvious. Currently, it is used as an alkaline and red color PH directive.

Diuretic medicine. It is used as a drug. Since the water in the body is discharged in a short time, the weight is temporarily reduced, but be careful as the electrolyte balance is lost. There is also a side effect of hyperglycemia.

An appetite suppression drug. Psychotropic drugs. Drugs that are unapproved in Japan. Substances contained in diet foods in China.

Substance with -NO (nitroso group) added to fenflulamine. It is said to cause liver damage. Like fenflulamine, it is used to suppress appetite, but it is not a drug.

An appetite suppression drug. Psychotropic drugs. A drug approved in Japan (Sanorex), but follow the doctor's instructions on how to take it.

Treatment for obesity. It is an unapproved drug in Japan, but in the United States, U.K., Germany and other countries have approved cybutramine hydrochloride, which is sold under the brand name "Merdia" or "LDactile."
Combined with MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitors (anti-depressant) can increase heartbeat and blood pressure and cause extremely serious health problems. Diet foods containing cybutramine were sold on the Internet not only in Japan but also in Japan, so it is highly likely that they are still on sale. Avoid using cibutramine in situations where there is no proper instructions from a doctor.

Stimulant raw material (concentration of 10% or more). Main ingredient of herbal medicine Maou (hempoo). The pharmaceuticals include epideline hydrochloride, which is used as an antitussis and bronchial extension agent.
Side effects include increased body temperature, anorexia, and sweating, so it is thought to be used in diet foods. If "Ma-Huang" is written in the supplement ingredient label, etc., the possibility of containing ephedrin is large, so be careful.

Dry and powdered thyroid gland of cattle, pigs, and sheep. It shows thyroid hormone (thyroxin) effects such as basal metabolism and weight loss. It has been abused as a "skin medicine" since around 1965. Excessive thyroid hormone results in similar to hyperthyroidism, such as palpitations, liver dysfunction, menstruation, menstruation, and mental instability.

Glybenchlamide

Low blood glucose. In addition to glybenchlamide, torubutamide and acetohexamide are included. These hypoglycemic drugs are called SU agents because they have a sulfonyl urea (Sulfonyl Urea) skeleton. There have been reports of health hazards in so-called health foods advocating blood glucose, and for some reason they have recently been added to high-strength and tonic health foods. The health food contained dozens of times the amount of medicinal effect.

The naturally occurring male hormone is testosterone. Even if it is given orally, it will be broken down by the liver. Methylteststerone, a synthetic male hormone, is a drug that can be administered orally, so it is added to health foods for tonic and tolerance.

Syldenafil citricate, is also used as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. Chinese tonic and tonic and tonic health foods (capsules, tablets, drinks) may contain high concentrations of syldenafil. Recently, Homosildenafil, Hondennafil, Baldenafil, Tadarafil, etc., whose structure is similar to Syldenafil, have been detected. Side effects include headaches, hot flashes and visual impairments. Be careful when using syldenafil with nitric acid agent or nitric oxide providing agent for angina pectoris, and nitrogen monoxide (nitroglycerin, etc.) may cause blood pressure to drop excessively and cardiac arrest.

Lidocaine is often found in creams or sprays, with the indication of erection. Lidocaine is also used as an antiarrhythmia drug in addition to local anaesthetics (surface anesthesia).

Inorganic mercury compounds are sometimes added to Chinese cosmetics that are labeled with whitening. Inorganic mercury compounds are highly stimulating and may cause contact dermatitis. In addition, ingestion is said to cause ulcerative gastroenteritis and nephritis.

The steroid drugs herein refers to adrenocortical hormone drugs such as betamethasone and cortizone. It is used in both internal and external medicine for the purpose of suppressing inflammation. Because it is used for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, etc., it may be contained in overseas beautiful skin cream. If used properly, steroid drugs are very good, but if used incorrectly and use them in their own way, side effects may become stronger, causing health hazards.
