Frequently Asked Questions (child addition to benefits to tax-exempt households)
Last Updated February 21, 2024
A child born after April 2, 2005.
As a general rule, there is resident registration in Yokohama City as of December 1, 2023, and resident tax of 2023 must be a household member of a tax-exempt household.
However, children who fall under the following are also eligible.
- Children born after the day following the base date (December 1, 2023)
- Separation custody (living in a student dormitory, etc. outside the household)
Of the households that have submitted a 70,000 yen application (or confirmation letter), those with children under the age of 18 will receive a "Notice of Payment" after the payment of 70,000 yen is confirmed. Please check the contents when it is sent, and if you agree to the items described, the child addition benefit will be transferred to the same account as the 70,000 yen benefit without any procedures.
Separate custody (living in a student dormitory outside the household and living in a student dormitory, etc.) are also eligible.
Please contact the call center individually for information on how to apply and attached documents.
Children born by August 31, 2024 are eligible.
However, please note that the application deadline varies depending on the date of birth.
