What is a child under 18 years old?
A

A child born after April 2, 2005.
As a general rule, there is resident registration in Yokohama City as of December 1, 2023, and resident tax of 2023 must be a household member of a tax-exempt household.
However, children who fall under the following are also eligible.

  • Children born after the day following the base date (December 1, 2023)
  • Separation custody (living in a student dormitory, etc. outside the household)

We submitted an application (or confirmation letter) of 70,000 yen benefit for tax-exempt households, but since there are children under the age of 18 in the household, do you need to submit an application for child addition separately .

Of the households that have submitted a 70,000 yen application (or confirmation letter), those with children under the age of 18 will receive a "Notice of Payment" after the payment of 70,000 yen is confirmed. Please check the contents when it is sent, and if you agree to the items described, the child addition benefit will be transferred to the same account as the 70,000 yen benefit without any procedures.

Separate custody (living in a student dormitory outside the household and living in a student dormitory, etc.) are also eligible.

When will the child born be eligible (addition of child benefits to tax-exempt households)
A

Children born by August 31, 2024 are eligible.
However, please note that the application deadline varies depending on the date of birth.

  • Birth between April 2, 2005 and December 1, 2005: May 1, 2024
  • Births from December 2, 2015 to August 31, 2006: August 31, 2024
