In 2024, 100,000 yen will be paid to the head of the household where the residence tax was newly "taxable" or "taxable only on the per capita rate". In addition, 50,000 yen will be paid per child to households with children under the age of 18 in the same household. (Click here for the system outline flyer (PDF: 634KB)

Households that met the previous payment requirement of 70,000 and 100,000 benefits are not eligible for the 2024 benefit, regardless of whether they are received.

Households eligible for payment

The following two conditions must be met.

  • Households with resident registration in Yokohama City as of the base date (June 3, 2024)
  • Households where the residence tax of all households was newly "tax-exempt" or "per capita rate only taxable" in 2024

Target households

Explanation of residence tax

(Note 1) Households consisting of only dependent relatives of those who are subject to residence tax even if the above conditions are met (eg, students living away from their parents, families living away from those who are working alone) Etc.) are not eligible for payment. The term "dependency" here is tax law support, not social insurance support. In addition, even if you are not dependent on the taxpayer, if you are a full-time business employee with a blue tax return, you will be treated as a taxpayer's dependent. If the situation differs from the situation in resident certificate due to circumstances such as divorce talks, please contact us individually.

(Note 2) Households eligible for the 2023 Emergency Support Benefit (70,000 yen or 100,000 yen) (including households that have not yet declared resident tax in 2023) are eligible for the 2024 benefits regardless of whether they have received it. not.

Households with children under the age of 18 (born on April 2, 2006) among households subject to inhabitant tax-exempt households or benefits (100,000 yen) only for per capita rates
 (Note 1) Children born between the day after the base date (June 3, 2024) and October 31, 2024 are also eligible for addition.
 (Note 2) Children who are separated custody (reside from the household and live in a student dormitory, etc.) may also be eligible. For details on how to apply, attached documents, etc., please contact the call center individually.

From Wednesday, July 24, 2024 to Friday, October 25, 2024 [must arrive]

In addition, application for child born after the next day of reference date (June 3, 2024) assumes until Thursday, October 31, 2024 [postmark valid].

If the application is incomplete

From "Yokohama-shi emergency support benefit reception center", we send notice of deficiency or call for contents confirmation. Please make corrections, etc. according to the content of the notification. Please use the enclosed reply envelope.

This benefit will not be recognized as income. If you receive it, fill it out on your income report.
Please submit it to the case worker in charge of each ward life support section.

Return of benefits
