Health promotion business for the elderly in the facility (interactive art appreciation based on reminiscence method, etc.)
Last Updated November 11, 2024
Since 2023, Yokohama City has been conducting a health promotion business through interactive art appreciation based on the reminiscence method (*).
In 2024, we will conduct training so that the staff of facilities for the elderly can practice interactive art appreciation based on reminiscence methods at each facility.
Details will be posted on this website from time to time.
In addition, this project is being implemented by the Yokohama City Social Welfare Fund, which was born from a bequest by citizens, "I want you to use it to enhance the social welfare of Yokohama."

What is interactive art appreciation based on reminiscence method?
This is an appreciation program where participants can freely speak and share what they felt and thought while looking at art works in groups and answering the questions of the facilitator.
It is said to be effective in reducing depression and improving the ability to play short-term words, as well as reducing BPSD (behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia). Even those who usually have little vocabulary may be able to enjoy dialogue as they participate in the program. This is a program where you can easily participate with those who have forgotten or have symptoms of dementia and those who do not. Use the method of reminiscence method.
Targets of Business
Elderly facilities (entrance facilities) in Yokohama City
Purpose of Business
We hope that the elderly will be able to improve their quality of life (QOL) and acknowledgement functions by conducting conversations using materials and works of art in a peaceful atmosphere. In addition, it can be expected that this initiative will lead to the stability of the spirit of the elderly, and that more conversations will lead to a smoother relationship with care staff.
