Yokohama City has been conducting a health promotion business through interactive art appreciation based on the reminiscence method (*) since 2023.

This is an appreciation program that allows participants to freely speak and share what they felt and thought while watching art works in a group and answering questions of facilitators.
In addition to reducing depression and improving short-term word playback ability, it is said to be effective in mitigating BPSD (behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia). Even those who usually speak less often can enjoy dialogue as they continue to participate in the program. It is a program that allows you to easily participate with those who have forgotten or dementia symptoms and those who do not. This is done using the method of the recollection method.

Elderly facilities (entrance facilities) in the city

We hope that the quality of life (QOL) and acknowledgement functions will be improved through conversations using materials and works of art that stimulate memories of the past in a peaceful atmosphere. In addition, it can be expected that this approach will lead to the stability of the spirit of the elderly, and that the increase in conversations will lead to a smooth relationship with care staff.

We carry out spread, enlightenment in three years from 2023 (planned).

FY2023: Program development, hands-on experience sessions at three facilities
FY2024: Training courses for facilitators (progressors) for facility staff
FY2025: Follow-up courses (consignment companies will follow the implementation at each facility and work to establish the implementation within the facility)

We recruited outsourcing companies using the open call for proposal method, and decided Art Alive as the trustee.
