Relationship between Yokohama City Disability Plan and Symposium (Citizen Awareness Project)

In Yokohama City, with a focus on creating a society where people with disabilities can make self-selection and self-determination, the "Plan for Persons with Disabilities (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan")", a medium- to long-term plan related to disability measures, was launched in 2004. Was formulated in Since then, we have formulated the “Second Plan” in FY2009, the “Third Plan” in FY2015, and the “Fourth Plan” in FY2021, and have been promoting measures.
The fourth plan is to aim for Yokohama, a town where people without disabilities can live on their own will as a member of a community-friendly society while respecting their personalities and personalities with each other's personality and individuality. It is set as a basic goal. This symposium is positioned as a “Citizen Enlightenment on Employment of Persons with Disabilities” project in the 4th Plan.
● Click here about Yokohama-shi person with a disability plan

The Act on the Promotion of Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Employment of Persons with Disabilities Act) stipulates the obligation for companies to hire persons with disabilities and various measures necessary to stabilize the occupations of persons with disabilities. It is based on the Employment Promotion Act for the Disabled, enacted in 1960, and has been revised several times to the present. Initially, the employment obligations of companies were limited to persons with disabilities, but since then, the scope of persons with intellectual and mental disabilities has been expanded. In recent years, working styles for people with disabilities, such as working from home and working shorter hours, have also diversified with the times.
We want to think about "work of person with a disability" with citizens in various ways from now on.
