| April | Start foundation work, start construction of marina facilities |
| June | Establishment of "Ordinance on Prevention of Leaving Yokohama City Ships" |

| March, 1996 (Heisei 8) | Completion of infrastructure development in the first phase of the marina-related business site |
| April | Opening of the first phase of the Marina facility (1,148 vessels) |
