1854 Concluded the Japan-US Friendship Treaty (Kanagawa Convention)
1858 1858 Decided to open Kanagawa in accordance with the Japan-U.S. Trade Treaty of Japan
1859 Opening of Yokohama Port, construction of East and West Wharf.

1868 Kanagawa Prefecture is set up
1872 A railway opened between Shimbashi and Yokohama
1889 The municipal organization was established in Yokohama

1917 New Port Wharf was completed and completed in 1917 New Port Opening Memorial Yokohama Hall (now Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall, "Jack Tower")

1951 Yokohama City becomes port manager
1953 Established Yokohama Port Promotion Association
1954 Takashima Wharf No. 3 Sanbashi Bridge, partial completion of Izutacho Wharf
1956 Yokohama City became a government ordinance-designated city
1959 Opened 100 years ago, the former Yokohama City Hall was completed.
1961 Marine Tower opened in 1961, completed in Daikoku-cho
1963 Landfilled at Honmoku Pier, completed in Yamashita-Futo and completed the first phase of landfill in Negishi Bay.
1964 Osanbashi International Passenger Ship Terminal opened, hosting the Tokyo Olympics
1968 1968 The full container ship Yokohama Port entered the first port, the first opening of the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway Kanagawa Line (between Asada and Higashikanagawa on the Yokohama Line)
1970 1970 Honmaki Wharf was completed
1971 Started construction of landfill at Daikoku Futo and Kanazawa Land
1974 Kanazawa Wood Wharf Completed
1976 1976 1976 Ougishima Landfill completed
1977 Completed landfill at Kanazawa Land
1980 Started construction of Yokohama Bay Bridge
1981 1971 Established Yokohama Port Wharf Corporation
1983 Started construction of Minato Mirai 21
1984 1984 Phase 1 landfill was completed.
1985 1985 1985 Discontinuation of Takashima Wharf
1986 Yokohama Port Symbol Tower was completed.
1987 1987 Construction of Tsurumi Tsubasa Bridge
1988 1988 Kanazawa Marine Park Open


1989 Yokohama Exposition (100 years of Yokohama municipal organization, 130 years of opening port), Yokohama Bay Bridge, opening of Yokohama Maritime Museum
1990 1990 commenced construction of Minami-Honmaki Wharf and completed the second phase of the Daikoku Wharf.
1992 Established Yokohama Air Freight Terminal (YAT) operations
1993 Yokohama Hakkeijima Open, Landmark Plaza Shopping Center Open and Yokohama Bayside Marina Co., Ltd.
1994 Tsurumi Tsubasa Bridge opened
1995 1995 1995 Established Yokohama Import Mart Co., Ltd.
1996 Yokohama Port Distribution Center (Y-CC) opened, Yokohama Bayside Marina Open
1999 1999 Yokohama World Porters, Navios Yokohama Open
2001 Started operation of the container terminal at Minami-Honmaki Pier MC-1 and 2 Container Terminal
2002 Opened Osanbashi International Passenger Ship Terminal and Red Brick Warehouse.
Opened Minato Mirai Line in 2004 and opened the Yokohama Bay Bridge section on Route 357, designated as a super central port.
2005 The Honmoku Pier BC Container Terminal, where Keihin Port was designated as a designated important port.
2007 2007 2007 Launched construction of MC-3 Minamihonmaki Wharf MC-3
2008 Opening of Mizuho Wharf Rinko Arterial Road
2009 Operation of Zo-no-hana Park
2010 Keihin Port is designated as an International Container Strategic Port, which is designated as an international container strategic port.
2011 2011 Honmoku Pier New D1 Terminal commenced operation, completed at Minami-Honmaki Wharf MC-3 landfill.
2012 Shinko Park became a cup noodle museum by introducing naming rights
2013 Minatomirai Tunnel started operation in 2013, Minatomirai Tunnel MC-4 construction started, and part of Honmoku Pier D4 Terminal.
2014 2014 full-scale operation of Honmoku Futo D4 Terminal
2015 Minamihonmoku Pier MC-3 Container Terminal operation
2016 Yokohama Kawasaki International Port Co., Ltd. established
2017 Designated as an international passenger ship base formation port


2019 New Port Wharf Passenger Terminal Open
2020 2020 Construction of the first phase of Shin-Honmaki Wharf
2021 2021 Minami-Honmaki Futo MC-4 container terminal operation
