Overview
If you purchase a property with a repurchase agreement by the sale of municipal land open call for sale and meet the following requirements, you can apply for cancellation of the registration.
In addition, after April 1, 2023, after 10 years have passed since the date of the sales contract in which the repurchase agreement was made, it became possible to delete the repurchase agreement registration by the owner's sole application. For details on procedures, etc., please check with the competent legal bureau of the property location or the judicial scrivener.
Requirements
- It is provided as the site of a detached house (a dedicated house where one household lives in one building)
- The special agreement period has expired
However, if all of the following requirements are met, you can apply for cancellation of registration even before the expiration date.
- A detached house has been built and an inspection certificate has been issued.
- A sales contract with a third party has been concluded (there is a contract for the purpose of transferring ownership of the property).
In order to cancel the repurchase agreement, an application by application form is required.

※In the case of cancellation prior to the expiration of the term, the application must have a third party (the person to whom the ownership is transferred) registered seal and private seal certificates. We will send you an application form before concluding a sales contract with a third party, so please contact us as soon as possible.
About waiting at the Legal Affairs Bureau with a Judicial Scrivener
By making advance adjustments, a judicial scrivener and city officials can meet at the Legal Affairs Bureau and apply at the same time. Please use it when it is necessary to change the land area of the property for sale, correct the land area, etc., and you want to cancel the special agreement by the settlement date. However, if you wish, please submit a cancellation application form and contact a judicial scrivener at least 3 weeks before the registration application date (payment date).

Costs
The cost of the application will be borne by the applicant. An income stamp with a face value of 1,000 yen is required for each application site.
※If you apply for two or more brushes, please prepare a stamp of 1,000 yen for several brushes. If you attach one stamp with the number of brushes x 1,000 yen despite applying for multiple brushes, only one application will be received according to the provisions of the Legal Affairs Bureau.
About after application
If there is no error in the contents of the application, the registration will be completed within 2-3 weeks from the date of application.
Once the registration has been deleted, a notice will be mailed to the applicant or scanned data will be sent by e-mail.

Procedure Department
The application for cancellation of the repurchase agreement registration is the contract department (or the transfer department of the contract department) at the time of purchasing the municipal property.
If the person who repurchases the certificate of registration is other than "Yokohama City" such as "Yokohama City Housing Supply Corporation", it cannot be handled, so please contact each organization.
If you do not know the contract department, please prepare a municipal property sales contract and contact us.
If you have lost your contract, please obtain a certificate of all matters in the area in Yokohama Legal Affaires Bureau and provide the following information:
- Lot number of the land at the time of the contract
- Date of transfer of ownership from Yokohama City to purchaser
The jurisdiction of Yokohama Legal Affaires Bureau will change depending on the location of the area.
Please contact Yokohama Legal Affaires Bureau (external site) for details on the jurisdiction, how to obtain a certificate of all matters, fees, etc.
When we lose contract, we cannot receive request such as grant of copy of contract from third party (person whom we received request from contractor with city). In addition, the provision of information such as contract details may be subject to disclosure requests.
Regarding requests from the person, we do not respond by telephone because it is necessary to verify the identity. Please be careful.
