The 3rd Yokohama City Child and Child Care Support Project Plan (Reiwa 7-11)

For the next plan (plan period: Reiwa 7-11), a questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the current situation and needs of families raising children.

　（１） Surveys to understand the current status of childcare for preschool children and the needs of parents (hereinafter referred to as the “Preschoolers Survey”)
　（２） Surveys to understand the current situation of elementary school students after school and the needs of parents (hereinafter referred to as "elementary school students") (*1)
<Extraction method>
　Random sampling from the Basic Resident Register (extracted so that there is no overlap between households)
<Number of households extracted>
　（１） Preschool children survey: 64,416 cases
　（２） Elementary school students survey: 65,892 cases
　Total: 130,308 cases

　From October 1 to October 31, 2009
<Recovery status>
　（１） Preschool children survey: Number of collected 33,321 (collection rate: 51.7%)
　（２） Elementary school student survey　：Number of collected 31,938 (recovery rate: 48.5%)
　Total: 65,259 cases (recovery rate: 50.1%)
※１： In the elementary school survey, a questionnaire containing the questions for the child himself is enclosed (the target child is the 4th to 6th graders). Of the 65,892 elementary school surveys, 33,068 were children in the 4th to 6th graders, and 12,445 were collected (recovery rate 37.6%).

For the formulation of the next plan (plan period: Reiwa 7-11), what we were having trouble raising children, happy, and wanting to understand, etc.
We held a group talk to think about child care in Yokohama together while talking about the true intentions of child care among participants.

As one of the efforts to listen to the opinions of children, we conducted interviews with young people who create local activity bases for young people and experienced social care.
