In Yokohama City, we have established the Yokohama City Child and Child Care Support Project Plan, which is a comprehensive plan in the field of child and child care support, and promote comprehensive support. Since the second plan will be completed in 2024, we will formulate the third plan this year. The third plan is positioned as a "child plan" based on the Basic Law for Children and the Basic Regulations on Child and Child Care, and will be promoted integrally.

About "survey for use needs grasp for Yokohama-shi child, child care support project plan development" (implemented in 2023)
For the next plan (plan period: Reiwa 7-11), we conducted a questionnaire survey to understand the current situation and needs of families raising children.
<Type of Survey>
(1) A survey to understand the current situation of childcare for preschool children and the needs of parents (hereinafter referred to as “Preschoolers Survey”)
(2) Survey to understand the current situation of elementary school students after school and the needs of parents (hereinafter referred to as "elementary school students survey") (* 1)
<Extraction method>
Random sampling from Basic Resident Register (extracted so that there is no overlap between households)
<Number of Extracted Households>
(1) Preschool child survey: 64,416 cases
(2) Elementary school student survey: 65,892 cases
Total: 130,308 cases

(1) Preschool child survey: 33,321 collections (collection rate: 51.7%)
(2) Elementary school student survey :31,938 collections (collection rate: 48.5%)
Total: 65,259 collections (collection rate: 50.1%)
※1: In the elementary school survey, a questionnaire stating questions for the child is enclosed (the answer target is the child whose address is 4th to 6th graders). Of the 65,892 elementary school surveys, 33,068 children in grades 4 to 6 and 12,445 collections (collection rate: 37.6%) were collected.

We held a group talk to think about child care in Yokohama together while talking about the true intentions of child care among participants.
