Outline of "Yokohama International Peace Lecture-What Each of us Can Do for Peace-"

Based on the "Yokohama City Ordinance on the Promotion of International Peace," Yokohama City is promoting initiatives that contribute to international peace, such as international exchange, international cooperation, and multicultural coexistence, and also create opportunities to think about peace with citizens.
This year, under the theme of "Thinking and acting on what we can do for peace," lectures will be held in open classes, and workshops and panel exhibitions for elementary school students. .
For a peaceful future, each of us needs not only to enjoy peace, but also to think and act. What can we do now for peace? Why don't you watch the video of the lecture?

<History>
Representative of Forum2050 (outside site). Expert in international cooperation, international development and global agenda. Specially invited professor at Meiji University and former Senior Advisor of JICA.
He has been engaged in international cooperation for 37 years at JICA, and has served as Deputy Director General of the United States Office, Director of Peacebuilding Support Office, Head of Human Security Group, Director of Bangladesh Office, General Manager of Human Development, Senior Advisor, and Special Assistant to the President.
Through activities that have been involved in development around the world at JICA, we launched the Forum2050 to foster the imagination of children around the world to face the future.

Contents

Toda gives a lecture to junior high school students in Yokohama based on his own experiences in conflicts around the world, etc.
After receiving lectures, discussions and presentations were held on the theme of "What can we do for the future peace?"
The audience will be able to see the class.
There is also a story by Marie Louise, who experienced Rwanda civil war and genocide.

We are developing basic technologies for realizing communication that includes not only video and audio but also tactile information, and explored improvements in human well-being.

Contents

Experience a "heart picnic * 1" where you can feel the beating vibration on your hand, confirming each other's presence, and interact intuitively as a person across differences in values and beliefs. Using the "My Wellbeing Card*2" developed by NTT, each group will consider and present what we can do to achieve peace and what we can do.
※1: Experience using a specific instrument to feel the heartbeat as a tactile sensation without touching the other person's heart.
※2: A tool that gives you a chance to think about the wellbeing of yourself and those around you.

International Affairs Bureau, Yokohama City, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Japan International Cooperation Agency Yokohama Center (JICA Yokohama), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA Yokohama), and Mayors for Peace's efforts on international peace.
In addition, UNIQLO, a global partner of UNHCR, will also sell original bracelet key chains in collaboration with MADE51, which aims to support refugees' independence.
