Outline of International Peace Lecture
Based on the "Yokohama City Ordinance on Promotion of International Peace", Yokohama City promotes initiatives that contribute to international peace, such as international exchange, international cooperation, and multicultural coexistence, and creates opportunities to think about peace with citizens.
More than 1% of the world's population has escaped from home due to conflict or persecution.
It has increased further due to the Ukraine crisis, with over 100 million people in May this year.
In order to deepen the understanding of the rapidly increasing number of refugees in the world, Mr. Nacken Koito, Chief Deputy Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), will give a lecture on the current situation of refugees around the world, UNHCR activities, and what we can do.
