In light of the fires at Notre-Dame Cathedral and the fires at Shuri Castle Ruins last year, fire prevention measures for cultural properties have been required, and Fire Bureau has been actively developing a cooperative system for firefighting support in the event of a disaster in facilities and communities.
The religious corporation Komeiji, which has valuable important cultural properties, and the adjacent Yokohama Komeiji Shopping Street Cooperative, will conclude a mutual firefighting support agreement to strengthen daily cooperation.
It is the first time in the prefecture that a facility (temple) that holds an important cultural property (wooden eleven-faced Kannon standing statue) and an area (shopping street) have signed an agreement.
