Summary of Fire and Emergency Preparedness in the First Half of 2020 (Preliminary Report)

① The number of house fires has increased! The highest percentage of residential fires in building fires in the past 10 years
　 All deaths from fire (excluding arson suicide) are due to house fires
・ The number of fires decreased by nine from the previous year, but residential fires increased by 16.
・ Residential fires accounted for 72.4% of total building fires.
② Both the number of emergency participations and the number of transport personnel, which have been increasing in recent years, have decreased compared to the previous year!
・ In the first half of 2020, the number of emergency services was 93,580, a decrease of 8,558 (-8.4%) compared to the same period of the previous year, and the number of transport personnel decreased.
It was 78,717, a decrease of 9,045 (-10.3%) from the same period of the previous year.
・ The number of emergency participations in April was the highest (13,726, 2,714, down 16.5% year-on-year), and looking at the breakdown.
Emergency illness decreased by 1,363 (-12.2%), general injuries decreased by 637 (-21.3%), and traffic accidents decreased by 320 (39.0%) each.
