Yokohama City and Shanghai City signed a friendship city tie-up in November 1973, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To commemorate this, the Deputy Mayor of Shanghai will be visiting the beach.
At this visit, a welcome ceremony will be held at the City Hall and a tree planting will be held at the Shanghai Yokohama Friendship Garden (in Honmoku Citizen Park) donated by Shanghai City to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the friendship city alliance.
