Yokohama City's Life Science Initiatives

Yokohama City has launched the Yokohama Life Innovation Platform (LIP. Yokohama) with the aim of creating new businesses through support in the health and medical fields. On the other hand, in light of the rapid progress of technological innovation in this field and the emergence of advanced social issues that transcend fields have become apparent, the following revisions were made.

■LIP. Elimination of Yokohama and Future Business Directions:
In fiscal 2023, LIP. Yokohama was resolved once, and in fiscal 2024, we will consider the opinions of participating companies, including building a new network to promote open innovation, including an industry-academia-government-private partnership system that addresses new social issues such as IoT and GX in addition to the fields of health and medical care, we will consider the opinions of participating companies.
In addition, subsidies and demonstration experiment support will be implemented in FY2024. In addition, as of March 31, 2024, those who have participated in LIP. Yokohama will be positioned as "Migration Preparators" to a new corporate support network, and will provide information using the e-mail magazine and the Yokohama City website.

About transition preparation member (formerly LIP. Yokohama member)

Until a new framework for support is established, those who have participated in the former LIP. Yokohama (including duplicate members with the former ICTOP Yokohama) will be positioned as "Migration Preparators" to the new corporate support network and will continue to share information. In particular, there is no need for participating companies to carry out the transition procedure.

Participation requirements

※All of the following requirements 1 and 2 must be met.

1. Regarding the status of entry into the health and medical fields, fall under any of the following:

  • We are already engaged in research and development projects for new technologies and products in the health and medical fields.
  • We are already engaged in projects that support research and development of new technologies and products in the health and medical fields
  • The company has a business office in Yokohama, and plans to engage in research and development projects for new technologies and products in the health and medical fields.

※The “health and medical field” includes drug discovery, medical device development, diagnostic technology development, preventive medicine, regenerative medicine, nursing care and welfare, and health services.
※"Business that supports research and development of new technologies and new products" refers to businesses that provide support to companies that conduct research and development of new technologies and products in the health and medical fields.
※"Offices in Yokohama City" includes cases where the head office is outside the city and there is a city office.

2. Being able to agree with the idea of "open innovation" that creates new projects and businesses by collaborating among participating members such as universities and research institutes.

The target is one of the following.

  • Corporations (Eligible for offices and business departments)
  • Sole proprietorship

Handling of personal information (common to transition Preparatory Members)

Yokohama City, based on the Personal Information Protection Law, strives to properly manage the collected personal information based on the Personal Information Protection Law, and handles it as follows.
1. The collected personal information will be used for the following purposes from the viewpoint of smooth operation of the business.

  • For distribution of e-mail magazine
  • To send materials related to programs and events provided by Yokohama City
  • To prepare a list of reception desk for various applications
  • To respond to consultations and inquiries

2. Regarding the collected personal information, we will not provide personal information to third parties except in the following cases.

  • In accordance with laws and regulations
  • With the consent of the individual, or when it is provided to the person
  • When it is made public by publication, press, etc.
  • When it is deemed urgent and unavoidable to protect human life, body or property.
  • In addition to the items listed above, when the Yokohama City deems it particularly necessary for the public interest

3. Regarding personal information, the individual has the right to request notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, and suspension of provision to third parties. Outline of Yokohama's personal information protection system

Handling of corporate and organization information excluding personal information (common to transition preparation members)

Yokohama City will handle the collected company and group information excluding personal information such as "business name", "head office location", and "main industry", from the viewpoint of smooth and effective operation of the business, as follows. Handle.

  • Information on companies and organizations may be shared with the trustees of this project and the support organizations, the Kihara Memorial Yokohama Life Science Foundation and the Yokohama Corporate Management Support Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "support organizations").
  • Information on companies and organizations may be shared with other departments in Yokohama City Hall that carry out business-related initiatives.
  • When a request is made by Yokohama City or a support organization to search for partners such as research and development, we may provide company and organization information to the person who requested the search.
  • On the website managed by Yokohama City, company and group information may be posted.

Precautions

  • There are no membership fees or by-laws for participation.
  • If you do not meet the requirements for participation, you may be refused participation.
  • Participation is refused if the main purpose is a gang, religious or political activity.
  • If you cannot contact us for a certain period of time after the participation is completed, or if inappropriate acts such as threats, rants, violent acts such as threats, rants, or violent acts are confirmed to Yokohama City and other related organizations and companies, etc. Registration may be canceled regardless of the will.

About e-mail magazine registration

For transition preparation members and registrants who wish to participate, we distribute e-mail magazines for information on various seminars and events, as well as information on systems of Yokohama City and related organizations.

Precautions

  • The use of the service is free, but the environment for using e-mail (equipment required for connection, communication costs, etc.) will be borne by the registrant.
  • If you cannot deliver to the registered e-mail address for more than a certain period of time, the registration of e-mail magazine distribution may be canceled regardless of the registrant's intention.
  • Service may be temporarily delayed or interrupted without prior notice to the user in case of emergency system inspection, maintenance, or repair of the system, disaster, communication line accidents, or other unavoidable circumstances. In addition, depending on the circumstances of telecommunications carriers (mobile phone operator), the service may be delayed or not delivered.
  • It is forbidden to quote, reprint, or re-distribution of information obtained by this service without permission is prohibited.
  • Yokohama City shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from the use of this service.
