1.Joint Research Issues
Verification of smart meters for joint meter reading
2.Purpose of Joint Research
This study aims to contribute to the promotion of the introduction of smart water meters by connecting a wireless terminal for joint meter reading currently being developed by Tokyo Electric Power Power Grid Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Toden PG") and an electronic water meter provided by a joint research partner to conduct communication tests with the simulated power smart meter of TEPCO PG to identify and respond to the issues that have arisen.
3.Contents of joint research
The details of the joint research are as follows.
(1) Lending of wireless terminals
Tokyo PG, a partner company for joint meter reading, will lend a wireless terminal to the joint research partner.
(2) Conducting communication tests
A) Provision of electronic water meters and connection of wireless terminals
The co-worker shall provide an electronic water meter and connect it to the wireless terminal lent by TEPCO PG.
In addition, the diameter and quantity of the electronic water meter shall be as instructed by Water Works Bureau.
A) Communication Test
An electronic water meter connected to a wireless terminal will be installed in the field provided by Water Works Bureau with the cooperation of officials and TEPCO PG officials to conduct communication tests.
If instructed by Water Works Bureau, the field shall be changed or the connected wireless terminal shall be changed.
C) Verification in apartment house PS and buried meter box
We plan to use a non-waterproof wireless terminal at the apartment house PS, but we plan to use a waterproof wireless terminal in the verification of the buried meter box.
The automatic meter reading shall be verified in situations where the wireless terminal is submerged or buried.
D) Field of communication test
Fields for communication tests will be provided in Water Works Bureau.
(3) Provision of verification data
The data recorded in the communication test will be provided by Water Works Bureau to the collaborators and TEPCO PG.
(4) Evaluation of research content and preparation of reports
The contents of the research shall be evaluated and compiled into a report and submitted to Water Works Bureau.
4.Research expenses
The cost of Water Works Bureau shall be calculated by dividing the annual budget of 600,000 yen (including consumption tax and local consumption tax) by the number of joint research partners, and any excess shall be borne by the collaborators. However, the upper limit per person is 200,000 yen (including consumption tax and local consumption tax).
