Recruiting partners for joint research (examination for the development of a centralized management system for pipeline construction progress)

Last Updated July 9, 2024

In order to solve the technical issues of the water supply business, City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau (hereinafter referred to as "Water Works Bureau") decided to conduct research in collaboration with private companies as follows and recruited other parties (private companies) to conduct joint research.

1 Collaborative Research Issues

Study for the development of a centralized management system for pipeline construction progress

2 Purpose of Joint Research

Water Works Bureau has ordered approximately 150 pipelines annually to upgrade and upgrade aging pipes, and currently manages progress through Excel. However, due to the large number of constructions and management items, it is difficult to manage them in Excel.
Through joint research, we expect to improve operational efficiency through the following effects by developing and introducing a system that facilitates the progress management of individual works and cross-sectional management of multiple works, which replaces management at Excel.

  • It is possible to manage the progress of individual works and cross-sectional management of multiple works on a single system
  • Anyone can operate intuitively without being an individual.
  • If you look at the system, you can see progress at a glance, making it easy to share information.
  • Works can be changed, erased, recombined, and related works can be linked.
  • Easily add elements that can be managed for progress (schedule, amount, extension, etc.)

3 Contents of joint research

The details of the joint research are as follows.

(1) System specification adjustment

We will make detailed adjustments to the system specifications of the management items and functions desired by Water Works Bureau, including efficient aggregation methods, input and output methods. In addition, details will be determined in coordination with the collaborators.
The management items desired by Water Works Bureau are as follows.

  • Amount management (estimated execution for the budget of the entire business, management of budget, design amount, contract amount, execution amount, execution amount)
  • Volume management (management of new construction and removal extension for each caliber and pipe type at the time of design and completion)
  • Process management (Each site of each construction*1 Assumed when there are multiple sites in the construction)

The functions desired by Water Works Bureau are as follows.

  • Functions that allow the information of construction input to the system to be output to the specified format
  • Functions that allow the system to import information in the prescribed format of Excel into the system

(2) Development and renovation of systems

(1) We will develop the system based on the specifications that have been adjusted.
The system will be rehabilitated to solve the issues obtained through trial operation at any time.

(3) Manual preparation and introduction briefing session

Operation manual preparation and briefing sessions will be held for station staff.

4 Research expenses

The cost of Water Works Bureau will be 0 yen.
