In the Yokohama City Building Environmental Consideration System, the building owner creates a “Building Environmental Consideration Plan” for the building, such as energy saving measures and longevity of buildings, harmony with the surrounding town Nami, greening measures, etc. It promotes comprehensive environmental considerations, and has a two-stage system consisting of a notification system and a certification system.

1． Notification system (from July 2005) Ordinance on conservation, etc. of Yokohama City Living Environment

In order to reduce the burden on the environment of the building, the owner will self-evaluate by "CASBEE Yokohama" when planning the building and notify Yokohama City. Yokohama-shi announces evaluation result and summary of architectural plan on homepages.

（1） Obligation (from July 2005) Ordinance on conservation, etc. of Yokohama City Living Environment

Ordinances require architects of buildings with a total floor area of 2,000 m2 or more to report self-evaluation by "CASBEE Yokohama" to the city at the time of construction planning.

（2） Optional (from April 2012) Outline of notification of Yokohama-shi non-specific building environmental consideration plan

For buildings with a total floor area of less than 2,000 m2, including detached houses, the desired builder can arbitrarily notify the city of self-evaluation by "CASBEE Yokohama or CASBEE Yokohama [Detached]" at the time of construction planning. .

2． Certification System (From April 2006) Yokohama City Building Environmentally Conscious Evaluation Certification System Outline

In order to promote CSR (corporate social responsibility) for the environment of the builder, the city certifies applicants based on the evaluation of academics.
