About this system

Purpose of the System

With the revision of the Electricity Business Law in 2000, the principle of competition for power supply was introduced, and it became possible to supply not only by general electric utilities but also by specific-scale electric utilities (PPS).
However, there are differences in the carbon dioxide emission factor associated with power generation and the amount of power generated by new energy depending on the electric power company.
Therefore, in order to promote global warming countermeasures, the bidding on the power supply and demand contract of Motoichi will reduce the environmental burden associated with power generation as much as possible, and will lead to efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions associated with the use of electricity. By setting environmental conditions, we have introduced a system to guide electric utilities in the direction of supplying environmentally friendly power supply.

Characteristics of the System

"Law Concerning the Promotion of Contracts Considering Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the Government of Japan (Act No. 56 of 2007) (hereinafter referred to as the" Environmentally Conscious Contract Law ") Since local governments are also required to promote environmentally friendly contracts, the Yokohama City considers the purpose of the Environmentally Conscious Contract Law, the Yokohama City considers the purpose of the Environmentally Conscious Contract Law, and then considers the degree of environmental contribution.

Environmental conditions

Items to be set and scoring

We set four environmental conditions of electric utilities: "carbon dioxide emission factor", "renewable energy introduction status", "ratio of power generation from unused energy", and "environmental contribution" of electric power companies.

List of environmental conditions
Item (Signing)Contents
CO2 emission factor (40 points)Evaluate the average carbon dioxide emission factor (adjusted emission factor) per kWh in the previous fiscal year.
Introduction of Renewable Energy (20 points)Evaluate the introduction status of renewable energy as defined by the FIT Law.
Ratio of electricity generated by unused energy (20 points)Evaluate the value obtained by dividing the amount of electricity generated (kWh) from unused energy such as the use of waste heat from factories, etc. used for power generation divided by the supply amount (kWh).
Environmental contribution (20 points)

For the following four items, we evaluated whether or not the status of efforts by electric utilities

  1. Introduction of Environmental Management System
  2. Purchase Status of Green Power Certificates
  3. Efforts to Energy Conservation
  4. Status of Environmental Reports

Score evaluation

If the total score of each item is 70 points or more, the B rank is 50 or more and less than 70 points, the B rank is C rank.
In addition, if a score of 5 or more points were not obtained in the degree of environmental contribution from fiscal 2008, each rank will be given a “-(minus)” to each rank to encourage understanding of Yokohama-type green electricity bidding and to contribute to the environment through our own initiatives.
In addition, we announce rank of electricity supplier who had you submit report.
