1 Maintenance of greening facilities in the greening area system About conservation

In the greening area, when building or expanding a building on a site of 500 square meters or more, greening at least the minimum greening rate (residential restricted zone: 10%, commercial restricted zone: 5%) is required. Yokohama City conducts patrols and strives to identify violations, and provides guidance such as recommending corrective actions if violations are found.

3 Corrective measures against violations

If there is a fact that violates laws and regulations, such as when the greening rate on the premises does not meet the minimum standards, we will provide guidance such as recommending correction.
If it is not corrected by guidance, we will conduct on-site inspections and corrective orders based on laws and regulations.
In addition, for violations of the order, penalties for imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 500,000 yen (Article 76 of the Urban Green Space Law) are stipulated as penalties.
