We ask for thorough compliance with the Water Pollution Control Law.

 Recently, it has been found that a number of acts that violate the Water Pollution Control Law have been carried out for a long period of time at business sites in Chiba Prefecture. Chiba Prefecture has held six expert meetings for this offending company and has provided strict guidance such as strengthening monitoring and guidance.
 Therefore, in order to prevent pollution of the water quality of public water bodies and groundwater, we will continue to thoroughly comply with the Water Pollution Control Law, in particular, thoroughly notify the Water Pollution Control Law, and operate businesses including affiliated companies. Please reconfirm your responsibilities.
 

I would like thorough notification of specific facilities.

  • When we install specific facility, report within 60 days before construction conduct
  • When we change structure, facilities, method of use of specific facility (including change of system of drainage pertaining to discharged water, change of method of treatment such as sewage), report within 60 days before construction execution.

Please reconfirm the responsibilities of business operators, including affiliated companies.

  • Dissemination of the Water Pollution Control Law, including affiliated companies, and thorough environmental management
  • Compliance with wastewater standards through voluntary measurement and thorough inspection of facilities
  • Thorough prevention of accidents, emergency measures in the event of an accident, and prompt notification

These provisions are subject to penalties.

  • Unreported, false reports | Imprisonment of up to 3 months or a fine of up to 300,000 yen
  • Exceeding wastewater standards | Imprisonment of up to 6 months or a fine of up to 500,000 yen
  • Unrecorded, false, and records of self-measurement | Fine of up to 300,000 yen
