Last Updated January 22, 2024

1.Obligation of water quality measurement (Article 12-12 of the Act (external site), Ministerial Ordinance Article 15 (outside site), Ordinance Article 11 (outside site), Rule 16 (outside site), Article 16-2 (External site)))

Business establishments that have set up specific facilities and abatement facilities must measure the water quality in the following ways, record the results, and save them.

(a) The measurement method should be performed using the measurement method specified in the ministerial ordinance on the test method of sewage water quality.

(b) For the number of measurements, perform the number of times specified by the ordinance for each item and the amount of wastewater. The number of measurements for each measurement item is shown in the following table.

(c) Specimens for measurement should be taken from the middle of the water depth at the time when the quality of the sewage to be measured is estimated to be the worst.

(e) Samples should be collected at the outlet and exits of the abatement facility.
(Ministry Ordinance, Article 15 No. 4 (external site), Ordinance Article 11 (external site))

(O) Save the measurement results for 5 years.
※Water quality measurement record table: Emission outlets → Style 13 (word: 25KB), exits such as abatement facilities → Eleventh style (word: 15KB)

2.Report obligations (Article 39-2 of the Act (External Site), Ordinance Article 12 (External Site)))
The installer of the specific facility and the installer of the abatement facility have an obligation to report when a report of the necessary limit to properly manage the sewerage system. Even if the drainage satisfies the water quality standards due to the establishment of abatement facilities, a report based on the ordinance must be made as long as the abatement facility is installed.

Penalties may also apply to those who fail to report or make a false report in violation of this provision. (Article 49 No. 5 (outside site), Ordinance Article 45 No. 5 (outside site))
