Aoba Ward was born from a part of Kohoku Ward and Midori Ward after the reorganization of administrative districts on November 6, 1994. It is located in the northwestern part of Yokohama, bordering Tsuzuki Ward   to the east, Machida to the west, Midori Ward to the south, and Kawasaki to the north. Approximately 310,000 people live in the beautiful cityscape, which has been systematically maintained by land readjustment.
