It was erected in 1721 by Zendo Sohaku Kazuhisa in 1721 as a retirement temple of Suiryuin in Hodogaya Ward. It has become abandoned because it has become obsolete, and the main Buddha statue is currently dedicated to the Shuryuin. The fair held on the grounds of the temple were also famous in Yokohama City and continued from the late Edo period to the beginning of the Showa era.
