The Oike in Kamishirane, completed in the Edo period, has an area of about 6,000 m2 and was used as irrigation water in the upper and lower Shirane villages.
The amount of water was abundant, and people did not have trouble with the water even during the water famine.
The old story of a large snake living in the pond is handed down. This is the headwaters of Naka-Horikawa.
