About exchange between Totsuka-ku, Yokohama and Shimokawa-cho, Hokkaido

Both Yokohama City and Shimokawa Town in Hokkaido have been leading environmental activities as environmental model cities.
In addition, between Kawakami district and Shimokawa-cho, exchanges have been promoted, such as carbon offsets for forest cultivation in Shimokawacho at recreation competitions in the Kawakami district held in 2010. . Totsuka Ward also joined the regional alliance and signed an agreement on August 6, 2011 with the Totsuka Ward, Kawakami and Shimokawa. We carry out various exchanges, such as exchanges through environmental education between elementary school students and the sale of special products of Shimokawacho at the Tozuka Fureai Residents' Festival held every fall. Yokohama City and Shimokawa Town were selected as Environmental Future City in December 2011 and as SDGs Future City in 2018, we are continuing to promote exchanges and collaborations in a wide range of fields beyond the environmental field.
