We will hold a lecture by a lecturer with specialized knowledge on the theme of "Let's think seriously about familiar environmental issues."
In fiscal 2022, the event will be held three times in July, September, and November.

Theme: Global Environment, Global Warming and Depletion of the Ozone Layer as Seen from the South Pole
Lecturer: Tomoyuki Ito, a member of the 19th South Pole Winter Observation Research Team / Ph.D.

Theme: The four roles of zoos in view of environmental issues
Lecturer: Mr. Toru Okuni, Director of Kanazawa Zoo
Tutor profile: Born in Miyagi Prefecture in 1959. Learn about landscaping at an agricultural high school, go to Tokyo, and use the newspaper scholarship system to learn about pollution at a vocational school.
In 1981, he became a Yokohama City employee (Kanazawa Zoological Gardens breeder). At the same time, he entered the Faculty of Law at night. After graduating from undergraduate school, he became an auditor and obtained qualifications for teacher licenses, social education supervisors, and curators. Study environmental sociology in graduate school. In 1997, he changed jobs from a breeding officer to a clerk, experienced the ward office, Board of Education, Environmental Planning Bureau, etc., and retired from Yokohama in March 2020. In April of the same year, he got a job at the Yokohama Green Association and became the director of Kanazawa Zoo.
His hobby whistle was a session with the piano, and he was active 60 times a year before COVID-19.

Theme: Current status and future of food loss and food recycling
Lecturer: Mr. Takuichi Takahashi, Representative Director, Nippon Food Ecology Center, Inc.
Tutor profile: Graduated from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Bioresource Sciences, Nihon University in 1992. He obtained a veterinarian license in the same year.
After working as a management consulting company, an environmental venture company, and an advisor to Odakyu Building Service Environment Division, he is currently Representative Director of Nippon Food Ecology Center. In addition, Chairman of the Japan Food Recycling Federation, etc.
He has received numerous awards, including the 2nd Japan SDGs Awards Prime Minister's Award in 2018 and the 20th Green Purchasing Award in 2019, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award in 2019.

With approximately 70,000 tons of food loss per day in Japan, the Nippon Food Ecology Center Co., Ltd. is working on recycling food that will help solve SDGs issues.

Theme: Global Environment Seen from the South Pole: Global Warming and Depletion of the Ozone Layer
Lecturer: Tomoyuki Ito, a member of the 19th South Pole Winter Observation Research Team / Ph.D.
Tutor profile: Graduated from the Meteorological University, Doctor of Science, Nagoya University, wintering the 19th South Pole area observation, and working at the Japan Meteorological Agency in Spring 2013 (Zuiho Middle Ribbon) Engaged in research on global air pollution, establishing a carbon dioxide observation system, and establishing an ozone layer and ultraviolet observation system. He has served as Chief Researcher of the Meteorological Research Institute, Director of the Ozone Layer Analysis Office of the Japan Meteorological Agency, Director of the Climate Change Countermeasures Office, Director of the Forecasting Department, and Director of the Hakodate Marine Meteorological Observatory. After Retirement, he was a part-time lecturer at Yokohama National University, the University of Electro-Communications, and Utsunomiya University.

Lecturer: Mr. Naoyuki Toyoda, President of the NPO “Umi no Mori and Yama no Mori Secretariat”
Tutor profile: President of the Secretariat of the Umi no Mori and Yama no Mori. Adventure photographer. Born in Yokohama in 1959. Graduated from Tokyo University of Fisheries (currently Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology). After working as a salaryman, fisherman, diving instructor, magazine editor and writer, he studied under photographer Seio Nakamura. Independent in 1991, established Tim Office of Sea Photography Production Co., Ltd., and became the representative. While working as a leading nature photographer in Japan, he also engages in environmental conservation and regeneration activities. In 2012, the NPO corporation established the secretariat of the Sea Forest and Mountain Forest and continued its activities.

Lecturer: Consumer Life Support Center Consumer Life Advisor Yuko Sakane
Tutor profile: Consumer adviser. Member of the Saitama Prefecture Global Warming Prevention Activity Promotion Committee since 2012. This year, a member of the Council for Promotion of Waste Reduction in Tokorozawa City. For about 20 years, he has been working on the development of teaching materials for elementary, junior high, high school, and university, and lecturer on the theme of the environment. With the aim of developing human resources who can independently participate in the creation of a sustainable society, we are developing classes that visualize the connection between environmental issues and living, and realize what we can do from the standpoint of consumers.

Lecturer: Hideki Nakahara, Professor Emeritus, Tokyo City University / Chairman of the Japan Ethical Promotion Council
Tutor profile: After serving as an assistant professor at Toyoko Gakuen Women's Junior College and a visiting professor at Manchester Metropolitan University, he became a professor and professor emeritus at Musashi Institute of Technology. Specialization is sustainable consumption. Chairman of the Living Forum of the Ministry of the Environment, Specialist of the Industrial Structure Council of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Chairman of the pioneering resource and energy saving business promotion committee of the Cabinet Office, Specialist of the Central Education Council of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Member of the Consumer Affairs Agency Ethical Consumption Survey Study Group, Chairman of the Setagaya-ku Environment Council, and Chairman of the Society for Environmental Management. He is also engaged in NPO activities such as the chairman of the Green Purchasing Network, the chairman of the International Green Purchasing Network, and the chairman of the Yokohama City Global Warming Countermeasures Regional Council. In 2013, he became an advisor to the United Nations Environmental Program Sustainable Public Procurement Initiative.
