The Totsuka Ward is surrounded by many rivers and is surrounded by the Izumi River and Uda River in the Sakaigawa River water system, and the Akuwa River, Nasegawa River, Hirato Nagatani River, Kawakami River and Maioka rivers. In addition, there are countless waterways in the ward. In addition to the flood control function, rivers have the following roles:

Hydropower and transported (water transport) using the flow of the river, and large rivers are used for drinking water, agricultural water, and industrial water.

Another major role of rivers is conservation, a natural environment.

First, the space of the river promotes the flow of air, and the plants along the river creates shades of trees, purify the air, and brings moisture to our lives.

Secondly, the nature of the river purifies water by living organisms, forming a food chain of living organisms, making it the best place to educate children.

Thirdly, it helps prevent global warming by taking heat from the surface of the earth when river water evaporates.

Fourth, it can be used to prevent the spread of fire in the event of a disaster, as well as fire water and domestic water in the event of a disaster.
