Last Updated September 7, 2023

Evacuation concept (If you feel danger, start evacuation)

Evacuation to a safe place (horizontal evacuation)

Evacuate to evacuation sites, nearby hills, relatives' homes outside the landslide warning area, etc.
Not all evacuation sites will be opened. Before evacuation, check which evacuation sites is established on the website.
In addition, unlike at the time of the earthquake, there is no provision of goods in principle during storm and flood damage. Please evacuate after bringing your own exhibit that you need.

Vertical evacuation

Evacuate to the second floor or higher of a sturdy building or a nearby high building.

Waiting in a safe place in the building (indoor evacuation)

Actions when evacuation outdoors is rather dangerous, such as at night or when danger is imminent.

Evacuation on a safe route

Evacuate along rivers and along steep slopes (cliffs).
Heavy rain may cause gutters and manhole covers to come off, so be careful not to fall and stay away.

Precautions for Evacuation

・If you evacuate by private car, you will not be able to park in evacuation sites in principle. Please park in a private parking lot near evacuation sites. In the case of evacuation of vehicles, pay close attention to road conditions, etc.
・Bring your own food, water and towels to evacuation sites.
・We recommend that you use as few items as possible so that you can take them out immediately (radio, drinking water, flashlights, medicines, baby goods, masks, etc.). Also, it is recommended that both hands fit in a rucksack, such as a rucksack.

Evacuation with pets

When evacuating, please bring a cage or carry bag to put your pet. In evacuation sites, evacuees and pets are required to spend time in separate places.
In addition, there is no stockpiling of pet supplies, so please bring your own items.
We ask that you follow the instructions of the staff in evacuation sites.
※Please see the following link for details pertaining to pet measures (flood and flood damage) at the time of disaster.

Revision of the Basic Act on Disaster Countermeasures

The Basic Law on Disaster Countermeasures was revised on May 20, 2021.
In the future, at alert level 4 (evacuation warning), always evacuate from dangerous places, and at alert level 3 (evacuation of elderly people, etc.), people who need time to evacuate, such as the elderly and people with disabilities, will be evacuated from dangerous places.
Also, when a warning level 5 (emergency safety assurance) is issued, safe evacuation is not already possible, and life is dangerous. Be sure to evacuate from dangerous places by alert level 4 (evacuation warning).
