Sakae Ward Reading Activity Promotion Goals

In response to the "Second Yokohama Citizen's Reading Activity Promotion Plan" formulated by Yokohama City in December 2019, Sakae Ward formulated the Second Sakae Ward Reading Activity Promotion Target in March 2021 to promote reading activities that correspond to the regional characteristics of the ward.

Specific initiatives and Sakae Ward reading maps are posted.

We raise awareness of inhabitants of a ward about reading-related facilities (Asupraza video library, information forum, book corner of district center and community house) and show presence as place of reading activity.
In addition, we send information of book document which library and reading-related facilities hold, information about reading activity group, information such as reading-related events to inhabitants of a ward in a timely manner.

Ward office and library cooperate and carry out book-reading activity promotion business effectively.
In the library, we will enhance the appeal of the corner for the teens generation with a high reading rate and promote motivation to read.
At libraries, Asupraza, and elementary and junior high schools, we will enhance the reference service by librarians to increase user satisfaction.
In addition, in libraries and reading-related facilities, everyone will be able to carry out reading activities comfortably, safely and with peace of mind.

In library, we strengthen center function to support reading activity as base of reading activity and aim at cooperation with reading-related facilities and elementary and junior high school.
Asplaza will continue to function as a specialized library where you can experience various cultures around the world and think about issues that are occurring on a global scale, such as the environment, peace, and human rights.
In addition, we will promote the discovery and development of volunteers who will be responsible for reading activities, improve the skills of volunteers and promote mutual exchange, and promote the creation of networks.

In formulating the second Sakae Ward reading activity promotion target, we received opinions from inhabitants of a ward.

Based on "the regulations about promotion of reading activity of Yokohama citizen" established in June, 2013, in Yokohama-shi, to prepare environment to support citizen's reading activity widely from child to adult and promote reading activity , In March 2014, we devised "Yokohama citizen book-reading activity promotion plan".
