About reading-related facilities in Sakae Ward
In addition to libraries, books are borrowed at district centers and community houses.
You can easily get acquainted with books in a familiar place. Please use it!

Sakae Ward's goals for promoting reading activities
Sakae Ward formulated the (first) Sakae Ward Reading Activity Promotion Target in March 2015, and has promoted reading activities so that residents of the city can easily enjoy reading.
In December 2019, the Second Yokohama Citizen's Reading Activity Promotion Plan (Reiwa Moto-5) was formulated, so based on the results and issues of past efforts, we have formulated a second Sakae Ward reading activity promotion target for approximately five years in order to promote reading activities that correspond to the regional characteristics of Sakae Ward.

Vibrio battle

Sakae Ward is holding a book introduction communication game called Vibrio Battle.
The presenter participants will introduce the books they find interesting to read in 5 minutes, and then the viewers will vote for the book they want to read the most to determine the champ book.
Presentation participants were asked to junior and senior high school students in the ward until 2018, junior high school students in the ward and adults engaged in reading activities in the ward in 2019.

About reading lecture
We carry out reading lecture to raise charm of reading activity and become opportunity of reading habit of inhabitant of a ward.

We create and distribute reading notebooks and parent-child ehon notebooks that keep records of books you have read.
