When a child has a disability

Please refer to "Disability and Welfare for Persons with Disabilities". We introduce welfare systems such as employment, training, and life support, and available welfare services.

If you have any concerns about your mental and physical development, such as slow language, unable to play with friends, worry about hearing, restlessness, etc., please contact the following for consultation.

Depending on the content and degree of the disability, a notebook (handbook for the physically handicapped, a notebook of love (care book), a health and welfare notebook for the mentally ill) will be issued. For more information, please refer to the following link.

Yokohama City has set up its own "Local Activities Home for Persons with Disabilities" as a base facility to support local life such as children with disabilities and persons at home and their families. Allowance for parents raising children with disabilities under the age of 20 (generally a part of grades 1-3 and 4, or in a state of needing nursing care in their daily lives due to intellectual or mental disorders) Will be paid. Please refer to the Special Child Raising Allowance for details.

It is provided to severely disabled children under the age of 20 who need constant care in their daily lives (approximately a part of grades 1.2 and those with an intelligence index of 20 or less). Please see Welfare Allowance for Children with Disabilities for details such as target persons.

When a baby who has been enrolled in the Yokohama National Health Insurance has a congenital disability or abnormality appears, a "childcare allowance at the time of disability" will be paid according to the degree of disability. You can apply if you continue to subscribe from birth to application. Please apply within 2 years from the time of disability. For more information, please refer to the following link.
