Creature expedition in Reservoir-Children's Adventure 2017-

[Application has been closed] We hold observation session of forest stand No. 1 rainwater regulating pond!

Do you know Mori nodai No. 1 Reservoir (rainwater regulating pond)?
When viewed from the outside, it looks like a field, but in fact it works very well during heavy rains.
It is a place where there is a pond and many creatures gather.
This time, we explored a retarding basin where people usually don't enter.
Let's learn about the role of the retarding basin and the creatures that live there!



Application method (application acceptance closed)

○Application acceptance was closed on July 12, 2017.
○The lottery results (winning / losing) will be notified to all applicants by the end of July.

※Cancellation in case of rain (may be canceled depending on the weather conditions the previous day)

Targets

○3rd to 6th grade in elementary school: About 30 people (in principle, please come with parents.)
※After the observation session, you will be asked to submit an observation picture diary. (Scheduled to be posted at Morinodai No. 1 Reservoir, etc.)

Clothes and belongings

Easy-to-move clothes and shoes (no sandals allowed), hats, towels, drinks, etc.
Art materials (crayons, colored pencils, etc.) required to create observation picture diary.
Creature collection tools (insect nets, insect cage, etc.)

Precautions

○In the case of cancellation, Midori Public Works Office will contact you by phone in the evening of the previous day or around 7:00 to 8:00 on the day.
○On the day, it is expected that the temperature will rise. Please prepare hats and drinks to prevent heat stroke.
○Please prepare the necessary tools for collecting creatures. After observing the collected creatures, release them into the biotope.

☆What is a reservoir (rainwater regulating pond)

Reservoir (rainwater regulating pond) is a facility that temporarily stores rainwater during heavy rain and prevents the river from overflowing by preventing rainwater from flowing into the downstream river at once.
In addition to this function, Morinodai No. 1 Reservoir has a biotope (a pond with an environment where creatures can live in), and it is a place where various creatures can live.
