On May 11th and 12th, the 2024 World Triathlon Yokohama Convention was held in and around Yamashita Park.
This is the 14th event, counting from the first tournament in 2009, which began as a project to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port. This tournament attracted a great deal of attention as an important tournament qualified to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games held in summer.
On the 11th, I attended the medal ceremony of top athlete girls, and awarded medals to players from the first to third place.
On the 12th, we visited the general participant section, which was attended by about 1,600 people, and the Hamatra FES, which was held in conjunction with the tournament. The venue was crowded with many people, including children and families.
Going forward, we will continue to work hard to enhance the presence of "Yokohama, a city of triathlon and paratriathlon."
