Renewal and earthquake-resistant construction
Last update date February 20, 2023
How to proceed with construction
The replacement of water pipes is carried out according to the following procedure, taking into account the cutoff time as much as possible and minimizing the impact on traffic. Since the amount of construction that can be done in one day is limited, we will work while moving to the place little by little every day. During the construction period, work will be performed about four times in front of your home. We will inform you in advance when you perform construction in front of your home.
In addition, information on major waterworks currently being carried out can be confirmed on the map.

Impact on Life
During construction, the following effects may occur. Although this may cause inconvenience to our customers, we will strive to ensure that construction is completed safely and promptly. "Notice" is distributed in advance when water cutoff, water reduction, or turbid water occurs due to water supply work, but if it exceeds 100 units, the information can also be confirmed on the website.
Cost reduction through downsizing
The amount of water supplied in Yokohama City is on a downward trend due to population decline and water saving. When renewing water pipes, we strive to reduce costs by downsizing the size of the water pipes to the extent that the water supply is not affected. Downsizing methods include updating to a thinner water pipe than an existing water pipe, or a method of consolidating it into one and shortening the distance when there are two water pipes on the same route.
