In Yokohama City, in December 2011, we received a report from the 4th Yokohama City Housing Policy Council on "the way of future housing policy" and formulated the "Yokohama City Housing and Living Basic Plan". Approximately five years have passed since the development of the plan, and in May 2016 (Heisei 28), we consulted the 6th Yokohama City Housing Policy Council to respond to changes in the housing and living environment. About "development of future housing policy for realization of attractive, safe and sustainable town ", we received report in April, 2017 (Heisei 29). Based on the purpose of the Basic Act on Living Life and the report of the council, this plan has been formulated for the purpose of showing the basic direction of living and living environment of Yokohama City for the next 10 years.

The Yokohama City Rental Housing Supply Promotion Plan sets out the goals of supplying rental housing for those who need to secure housing in the “New Housing Safety Net System” established on October 25, 2017. It is a plan to develop measures systematically.
By establishing this plan, it is possible to add people who need to secure housing and strengthen and mitigate registered housing.

A report was issued in April 1993 by the "Yokohama City Housing Policy Roundtable" on the ideal way of housing policy of Yokohama City with a view to the 21st century. This plan was formulated as an administrative plan for the city based on this report, and has the character as a basic plan for the housing section with the comprehensive plan "Yumehama 2010 Plan" as a higher-level plan.
