Project to extend the life of the Kanazawa Plant

Currently, four waste incineration plants are operating in Yokohama City. The Kanazawa Plant is the newest plant in Yokohama, but about 25 years have passed since its construction, and the core facilities of incinerators, boilers, and exhaust gas treatment facilities have deteriorated. In order to continue stable waste disposal in Motoichi, we will carry out large-scale renovation of the deteriorated core equipment and extend the life of the entire Kanazawa factory.

Overview of Construction

We aim to ensure stable operation of garbage incineration plants by updating and renovating major facilities and equipment that are difficult to carry out with regular maintenance. In addition, the introduction of the latest energy-saving equipment will contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Effects of this project

Reduction of CO2 emissions

By renovating steam turbine generators and introducing energy-saving equipment, this project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by about 3,000 tons, or about 21% from previous emissions.

Increase in power generation

Currently, the Kanazawa Plant generates electricity for approximately 40,000 households annually. By renovating the steam turbine generator in this project, it is possible to generate more than 3,000 new electricity for more than 3,000 households.
