Septic tank

• When installing a septic tank using a flush toilet in an area where public sewer is not maintained, a procedure for setting up a septic tank is required.
  In addition, procedure is necessary when septic tank setting construction is completed or when septic tank is abolished.

Note) Septic tank installation If you do not submit registration form or septic tank change registration form, you will be subject to imprisonment for up to 3 months or a fine of 500,000 yen or less.

• If the installation does not conform to the structural standards even if a notification is made, a change or abolition of the report will be ordered.
  Failure to comply with this will result in imprisonment of up to three months or a fine of 500,000 yen or less.

• A septic tank is a facility that cleans sewage by the action of microorganisms. Daily maintenance is important so that the discharged water quality does not deteriorate and odor.
  Those who manage septic tanks are required to perform maintenance inspections, cleaning, and legal inspections. (Johkasou Tanks Act)

Note) If you do not comply with an order for improvement to perform maintenance and inspection and cleaning of the Septic Tanks Law, you will be punished with imprisonment for up to 6 months or a fine of 1,000,000 yen or less.

• If you do not comply with the fact that you should undergo a statutory inspection after installation or once a year and do not comply with subsequent orders, you will be subject to a fine of 300,000 yen or less.
