World Food Day Monthly Collaborative Event WORLD FOOD NIGHT
Last Updated October 13, 2023
What is World Food Day Month?
World Food Day Month
After World Food Day on October 16, it is a month to think about hunger and food issues and work together to solve them.
In Japan, October, when World Food Day is held since 2008, is designated as World Food Day month, and NGOs/NPOs and international organizations working to solve hunger and food problems are jointly disseminating information.
Current status of food problems
The world produces enough food that everyone can eat, but one in ten people is not eaten enough.
On the other hand, 1/3 of the food produced in the world is discarded.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to solve various problems such as poverty, inequality, and climate change, aim to reduce hunger to zero by 2030 and reduce food loss. However, many people need to take action to change the world.
