Yokohama City's mobile phone recycling!
In cooperation with sports teams based in Yokohama City and Linette Japan Recycling Co., Ltd., we are implementing a recycling business for used mobile phones.
Mobile phones collected at the game venue will also lead to employment support for people with disabilities by disassemblying them at working facilities for persons with disabilities in the city. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from this project is the Special Olympics Japan, which promotes sports activities for people with intellectual disabilities. ※This will be used to cover a portion of the cost of activities.

Q. Why did you decide to start a business?
In the process of collecting and recycling garbage, the ignition of electronic devices, including lithium-ion batteries, has become a nationwide issue. In addition, small household appliances such as mobile phones may be discharged as burnable garbage without being separated when they are no longer needed at home, while rare metals (rare metals) that make up products can be recycled.
This time, after-medal project promoted by the Ministry of the Environment. ※As part of this project, sports teams in the city will install and publicize used mobile phone collection boxes at game venues for the purpose of strengthening SDGs initiatives, such as resource recycling and employment support for persons with disabilities. We will have you cooperate.
※ The “After Medal Project” is a successor to the project implemented to create medals to be used in the Tokyo 2020 Games.
This is an initiative that has been implemented as a legacy of mobile phone recycling.
