About processing of oversized garbage with vomit including virus attached
When vomit containing norovirus or rotavirus is attached
Last Updated January 26, 2024
Norovirus and rotavirus are highly infectious and cause new infections from droplets such as vomit.
Therefore, please discharge after appropriate treatment as follows.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Disposable gowns (aprons), disposable masks, gloves, rags, paper towels, newspapers, etc. (preferably) glasses or goggles, plastic bags, sodium hypochlorite (*) diluted to a chlorine concentration of about 1000 ppm (hereinafter "Disinfection") Please prepare.
In order to prevent scattering infection, except for the person performing the treatment, do not approach nearby, and the person who performs the treatment should wear disposable gowns (aprons), disposable masks, gloves (preferably glasses or goggles), Wipe out the rags, paper towels, newspapers, etc., so that the virus does not scatter.
After wiping off the vomit, wipe the area where the vomit is attached with a disinfectant, and then wipe the water.
Put wiping vomit, rags, paper towels, newspapers, etc. used for wiping in plastic bags, pour disinfectants, seal them, and dispose of them as burnable garbage. (It is desirable to pour a disinfectant that allows the amount of plastic bag waste to be sufficiently immersed.)
After treatment, lather soap thoroughly, wash your fingers, rinse thoroughly with running water with hot water, and wipe your fingers with a clean towel or paper towel. In addition, do not use disinfectants for disinfection of fingers, etc., as they cause skin damage.
Put the oversized garbage in a plastic bag, seal it, or wrap it in a wrap film, seal it, and apply to Oversized Garbage Reception Center by telephone.
In addition, at the time of application, please be sure to state that the vomit, etc., including norovirus and rotavirus, has been attached, and that proper treatment has been performed.
※About sodium hypochlorite
- Sodium hypochlorite is a component of chlorine bleach. It can be substituted with chlorine bleach containing sodium hypochlorite for home use.
- If the concentration of sodium hypochlorite is 6% (a high concentration of commercially available chlorine bleach), diluted with 60 times of water will result in a concentration of about 1000 ppm.
- In order to maintain the disinfecting effect, use the undiluted solution stored in a place where it can be shaded and do not store it. (Sodium hypochlorite diluted sodium hypochlorite loses the disinfection effect over time, so dilut it when disinfecting.)
- Be sure to have sufficient ventilation when using. Also, if mixed with acidic detergents, chlorine gas may come out, so do not use it together.
