The mouth of the Ooka River water system, which flows through central Yokohama, is the center of Yokohama, is home to offices, commercial, sightseeing spots, and residential areas such as the Kannai Kangai-District and Minato Mirai 21 districts.
From the water, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery unique to a port town, and after the opening of the port, it has been used as a canal for transporting building materials and food until the war.
In addition to cruise ships and houseboats, more and more people are enjoying water activities such as SUP, kayaking, and E-boats.
The Urban Regeneration Division uses the piers and hydrophilic facilities maintained in the Okagawa River, and is engaged in social experiments, etc., with the aim of strengthening migration and creating bustle by taking advantage of the attractiveness of rivers and Uchiharbor areas.

Purpose

Contribute to regional development by examining and implementing water transport operations and creating bustle in the surrounding area in Yokohama Station, Minato Mirai 21 and Kannai Kangai-District.

Details of implementation

Spring usage adjustment

The usage adjustment will be made at Hinode Pier in Yokohama.

Currently, regarding the use of the Yokohama Hinode Pier, members of the Okagawa Station Steering Committee are required to submit a temporary use notification to the Yokohama Hinode Pier and Water Facility Use WEB Reservation System, and non-members must submit a temporary notification to the Yokohama Kawasaki Flood Control Office.
However, Okagawa is also a famous spot for cherry blossoms, and in the spring, the number of applicants to use the pier increased, making it difficult for non-members to make a reservation.
Therefore, in order to ensure that many people have the opportunity to use the Yokohama Hinode Pier, we are adjusting the use of Yokohama Hinode Pier during the cherry blossoms bloom.
For more information, please refer to the documentation.

Past implementation status

Cherry blossoms are lined up along the Okagawa coast, and during the cherry blossom season, many cherry blossom viewing cruises are held to see the cherry blossoms from the boat.
The executive committee promotes water transportation under the title of "Spring in full bloom, Yokohama Cruise" at that time.
For details on past implementation status, please refer to the brochure for each fiscal year.

Takenawa Aki! Yokohama Cruises 2019

Every year from September to November, many large-scale events are held in the city center of Yokohama, which can attract many customers.
The biggest attraction of water transportation in central Yokohama is that you can enjoy the view of Yokohama from the water, but in addition to this, especially when the event is held, crowded by many visitors is expected to be crowded, so it can be attractive as a new means of transportation to the event venue away from public transportation such as railway stations.
Therefore, in the autumn season, we will conduct a cruise connecting water transportation bases located in the Okagawa River, Uchiko area, etc., and by promoting this, we will disseminate the appeal of water traffic in central Yokohama and holding events in the Yokohama coastal area Conducted a social experiment to verify the feasibility of the cruise.
