Background of planning
In the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, a large number of residents and people unable to return home occurred around terminal stations in large cities, causing great confusion. In the event of a disaster, it is expected that many residents will also occur in the area around Yokohama Station, so we decided to create a "Urban Rehabilitation Safety Plan in the Area around Yokohama Station".

In the area around Yokohama Station, we aim to improve disaster prevention capabilities in the area around Yokohama Station by implementing measures such as measures against residents and people unable to return home and evacuation from the tsunami.

This plan links the disaster prevention efforts that have been made so far in the area around Yokohama Station, embodying the efforts of administrative agencies and private businesses, etc., and clarifying their roles so that they can respond in the event of a disaster. Thing.

Background of the revision
Approximately five years have passed since the revision in FY2018, and the revision was made because it was necessary to renew evacuation facilities based on the development situation around Yokohama Station. The revision was conducted at the Yokohama Station Area Confusion Prevention Measures Meeting, an organization established for the purpose of ensuring confusion and safety in the event of a disaster around Yokohama Station, and on February 27, 2024, the Yokohama Station Area Urban Renewal It was approved by the Safety and Security Planning Subcommittee.
