In order to improve disaster prevention capabilities in the area around Yokohama Station, as well as measures for residents and people unable to return home, railway operators and private businesses set goals and initiatives in cooperation with government agencies such as the government and Yokohama Citytsunami.

Background of Plan Creation
In the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, many residents and people unable to return home occurred in the vicinity of terminal stations in major metropolis. In the event of a disaster, it is expected that many residents will occur in the area around Yokohama Station, so we decided to create a "Urban Renewal Safety and Security Plan around Yokohama Station".

Purpose of planning
The aim is to improve disaster prevention capabilities in the area around Yokohama Station by implementing measures for residents and people unable to return home and evacuation from tsunami.
Positioning of the Plan
This plan links disaster prevention efforts that have been made so far in the area around Yokohama Station, embody the efforts of administrative agencies and private businesses, etc., and clarifies roles so that they can respond to disasters. Thing.

Background of Revision
Approximately five years have passed since the formulation, and it was necessary to update evacuation facilities at the time based on the development situation around Yokohama Station, etc. In revising, we examined at the Yokohama Station Area Confusion Prevention Measures Conference, an organization established for the purpose of ensuring confusion and safety in the event of a disaster around Yokohama Station, and was held on December 26, 2018. Approved by the Regional Urban Renewal Emergency Maintenance Council.
