About the Japan Urban Planning Society Award
The Japan Society of Urban Planning (Chairman Norihiro Nakai (Chairman: Professor, Graduate School of Tokyo Institute of Technology) presents academic awards once a year for papers, plans, designs, and projects that contribute to academic and technological advancements.
The awards consist of the Ishikawa Prize, which was established to commemorate the achievements of Hideaki Ishikawa, one of Japan's leading urban planners during the Taisho and Showa eras.
About the Ishikawa Prize
The Ishikawa Prize is an award for individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to the progress and development of urban planning through their original or enlightening achievements in urban planning.
This is the second time that Yokohama City has received the Ishikawa Prize since 1985.

Points of evaluation and reasons for the award
・In addition to providing hardware that contributes to solving regional issues, local communities are formed through planning, contests, and maintenance opportunities.
