Experiment on the use of the promenade of the former site of Toyoko Line

Last Updated February 7, 2023

The site of the Toukyu Toyoko Line abandoned line (between Yokohama Station and Sakuragicho Station) is being developed and operated as a pedestrian-only road. On July 16, 2019, for the first time, maintenance of the elevated part (around Sakuragicho Station West Exit Square-Momijizaka Intersection) was completed and put into service.
The area is a promenade connecting stations, and is located between the Minato Mirai area and the Noge / Tobe area, sandwiched between different unique towns, and has the potential to create an attractive space unique to you.
Aiming at a new attractive pedestrian space in the city, experimental events will be held mainly in the service part in order to arrange necessary conditions and issue utilization entities for future utilization and maintenance of undeveloped sections. I did it several times. Based on experiments, we will promote the use of events and other events by various actors.

The third event was held in collaboration with Civic Affairs Bureau's efforts to foster awareness toward the Olympic and Paralympic Games in order to widely use it as a venue for events and other events, based on the know-how gained from the two experiments conducted so far.
An event to consider the realization of a "symbiotic society" such as creating a universal design town and barrier-free mind, using the `` Toyoko Line abandoned line site promenade '', which is being developed as a pedestrian-friendly road that is friendly to people Held.
Under the theme of "connecting", through the event, we conducted verification to connect the Toyoko Line abandoned line promenade as a "migration axis that anyone can use", and started with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in 2021.
