Yokohama City Forest Creation Guidelines

Last Updated June 28, 2024

Positioning of these Guidelines

These guidelines are technical guidelines for effective and efficient management of forest land for Shimin-no-Mori, contact forests, and municipal green spaces under the jurisdiction of the Park and Green Space Office. The contents of these guidelines are compiled with the advice of experts and local people who have been working in the forest of Yokohama for many years, in addition to the skills and experience cultivated by Yokohama City staff. Therefore, although there may be differences from general knowledge and academic views, please understand this as "wisdom of the field in Yokohama".
In addition, these guidelines also provide specific work details and schedules. These are extracted and described elements considered to be most common to forests found in Yokohama City. In many cases, the contents of these guidelines are likely to apply. However, the content and timing of the work will vary depending on the detailed conditions of the site and the climate of the year. In some cases, not performing the work listed may be an option, but please make a comprehensive judgment on the situation at the site before using. These guidelines are only technical guidelines for "when working" and are not premised on the work itself. In addition, we do not guarantee the results of the work.
