Nature-Green, Flower, Agriculture-Greenland Conservation Management Plan

Last Updated August 1, 2024

Many forest areas such as citizen's forests are preserved in Yokohama City. In order to properly manage the preserved forest land, it is necessary to consider information on the flora and fauna that inhabit it, human activities and usage, the history and nature of the land. Yokohama City is promoting management by combining the “Yokohama City Forest Creation Guidelines”, a standard work technology guideline that matches the actual conditions of forest land in the city, and the “Conservation Management Plan” that takes into account the characteristics of individual forest land.

Yokohama City Forest Creation Guidelines

Yokohama City has compiled the "Yokohama City Forest Creation Guidelines" as a document that can be shared by citizens involved in forest creation and the government in order to carry out higher quality management of forest land such as citizen forests.

Maintenance Management Plan

It is the "Guidelines for Forest Creation", which serve as a guideline for forest creation in citizens' forests, but actual forest management requires a more detailed plan tailored to the actual situation of individual forests. Therefore, we are working to formulate a conservation management plan as a plan for each forest. Stakeholders such as citizen volunteers and the government cooperate to determine the target figure (vegettation), work content, role assignment, etc.
Just as some people like bright forests and others like dark quiet forests, each forest you like for living things. Through the formulation of a conservation management plan, it is important to organize various views, share issues, and firmly decide and manage the desired forest.
