Last Updated May 9, 2024

Parents and local residents-Requests for children's play and watching playground equipment-

In Yokohama City, we perform regular inspections and repairs of playground equipment, but we cannot completely prevent mischief, destruction, or injuries due to unexpected use.
We ask for your cooperation so that parents and the local community can watch the playground equipment and children's play.

Daily checkpoints for playground equipment

  • Is there any damage, distortion, or inclination in the playground equipment?
  • Are there any large irregularities or stones around the playground equipment?
  • Are there any graffiti, or are there any sharp angles or scissors?
  • Are foreign objects such as strings, glass, and metal pieces such as jumping ropes left?

Children's play watching points

  • Are you playing with a helmet, bag, muffler, string, etc.?
  • Are you playing with gloves or shoes that are easy to take off?
  • Isn't the infant playing with playground equipment that does not fit in physique or athletic ability?
  • Are you playing clearly dangerously, such as pushing away other children?

Please

  1. If you find any damage to playground equipment or facilities, please contact the Public Works Office Park and Green Space Office.
  2. If you witness the destruction of playground equipment, facilities, arson, etc., please notify the police immediately.
  3. The playground equipment is marked with a sticker indicating the age that can be used as a guide for safe play.
In particular, if your child is less than the target age, please always watch it out of the reach of parents.

About danger (risk) that can be detected as lurking danger (hazard)

It is said that there are two types of dangers in the park playground.
One is the danger (hazard) that is difficult for children playing to find, such as broken glass falling or loosening playground equipment, and if left unchecked, can lead to accidents.
The other is the danger (risk) that allows children to detect and decide on their own whether to challenge themselves.
The park is an important place for children to play. Through play, children learn the ability to judge dangers and how to deal with them.
When watching children's play, it is important to ensure that they remove hazards, properly manage risks while respecting the value of play, and watch over children who adventure and challenge. It is considered.
